POSTCARD FROM BALI

A little flash-forward to where we are now: a postcard from Alila Uluwatu in Bali. This is by far the most beautifully designed place I’ve ever stayed. It is the perfect hideaway if you want the beauty of Bali, without the traffic, crowdedness and the mosquitos (lemongrass is planted everywhere so these annoying little creatures will stay away!).

After traveling from Phuket to Ao Nang (Krabi), we did explored the mainland of western Thailand and hopped to a few islands in the Andaman Sea. The photo reports of those adventures will be up next on the blog! From Krabi we flew to Singapore where I instantly felt at home in this beautiful and organized city. It has such a wide variety of old (colonial) and new architecture; I kept dropping my jaw at everything I saw. A real bonus is that there is very little traffic (in contrast to for example Bangkok), because it’s very, very expensive to own a car. More on this city later!

We’re momentarily making ourselves ready for our flight to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow morning, where we will be staying for two nights before we fly back home. Tonight is our last dinner in Alila (this wouldn’t be a real blog post if there wasn’t anything in it about the food right!) and they’ve already set up this cabana in a romantic setting for us as a goodbye, so beautiful and sweet!
